Manage social media when we are not in the office

One of the drawbacks of the job of community manager is that social networks do not understand working hours, holidays or vacations. Therefore, it is often necessary to perform some of the work away from the computer, using a smartphone with Internet access.
If we organize and use the tools at our disposal, we can meet many of the tasks required from the phone when the circumstances require it. In this post we will focus on those directly related to the monitoring of accounts and publishing content on social networks .
The email notifications are the simplest way to be aware of the activity that occurs in the different profiles that manage social networks. All major social platforms Twitter, Facebook, Google+ or options allow you to configure the profiles that manage to receive an alert in your inbox in real time when admissions occur by other users. If we adapt this configuration to our needs, we will monitor the activity of the channels easily in those moments when we are not in the office.
If you only need c heck the activity that takes place in one or more pages of Facebook , the logical choice is to use the Page Manager that the company launched a few months ago to Android and iOS .Since this app will control most options administrator and statistics while avoiding confusion with our profile.
Although Facebook if it offers an option to manage the presence of brands, most of the time the official applications of social networks are designed primarily for end users and facilitate the work of the Community Manager. The mobile version does not give access to the management of company profiles and when they do its usability is not good, causing it to be easy to confuse personal accounts with the work.
As a community manager, you should use tools designed specifically for the use of social media as a brand from the mobile and avoid situations. My favorite here is Hootsuite because it allows a single application to have access to post, monitor, analyze and manage all company profiles on different networks and even program automatically posts the busiest hours of the followers though we can not be aware at all times.
These basic tools serve us to stay alert and manage activity publications mobility and can be used to help in daily work.
